It has the characteristics of light weight, firmness, heat insulation and sound insulation. It can be used for roof insulation, interior and exterior walls, sound insulation screens, etc.
The reason why ceramsite has been developed rapidly is that it has many excellent properties that other materials do not have, which makes it have a role that other materials cannot replace. These advantages can have the following aspects. Heat preservation and heat insulation, the ceramsite provided by Chinese ceramsite has good heat preservation and heat insulation due to its internal porosity. The thermal conductivity of concrete prepared with it is generally 0.3~0.8W/(mk), which is 1~2 times lower than ordinary concrete. Therefore, ceramsite buildings have a good thermal environment.
